We have always strived to meet and exceed the recommendations of the Center for Disease Control and other regulatory and professional organizations. In an effort to ensure the health of our patients and staff and to adapt to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 virus, we have changed our policies and procedures in regards to scheduling, waiting areas, patient companions, personal protective equipment, and clinical protocols.
Confirmation Phone Call
- You will receive a confirmation phone call several days before your appointment to confirm your appointment date and time.. Usually this will be between 48 and 72 hours before your appointment.
- At the time of this phone call you will be asked a series of health related questions. A positive answer to one or a combination of these questions may cause your appointment to be postponed as they may indicate the potential risk of illness. If we are not able to screen you by phone or you are not able to complete the questions by on line survey, we will reschedule your appointment. This will be done for the safety of our patients and their families and follows nationally recommended guidelines. Rescheduling poses an inconvenience to all. We ask that you keep your contact information up to date and make sure we have your preferred method of communication.
- You will be advised of the treatment planned for your visit and an estimation of your fees. So that we may be efficient and lessen potential contact time with other people, we ask that you have your payment prepared before you come to the office.
Check In Procedures
- When you arrive at our building, please call our office at 631-366-5797. We will review our screening questions by phone with you. These are the same questions you were asked when your appointment was confirmed.
- If the questions do not indicate a potential for infection you will be advised to enter the office. You may be asked to wait if there is an increased potential for violating social distancing recommendations. Please wear a mask or acceptable face covering.
- When you arrive in the office, please use the hand sanitizer that is provided.
- You will be screened with an infrared thermometer and a pulse oximeter. If the patient requires a person to accompany them to the appointment, the companion will be screened in the same manner.
- When your treatment is completed, we will ask you to again use hand sanitizer prior to departing and to apply your mask as you are departing.
